Misuse of “toggle”, “dongle” and gum chewing. Am i getting uptight in my old age?

I don’t know why, but misuse the terms “dongle” and “toggle” are like nails on a chalkboard to me. There are plenty of other word misuses that don’t have the same effect on me. I can’t explain it. Am I getting uptight in my old age?

For the record, ppl, here are the proper definitions:

Toggle: “5. A key or command that is operated the same way but with opposite effect on successive occasions” – google dictionary

Dongle: “An electronic device that must be attached to a computer in order to use protected computer software” – google dictionary

You’re welcome.
