Jean Plaidy Collection Reading Project, 2010 – 2013

Update: September 2013 – I did it. I read all the historical fiction Plaidy books. My life felt full and complete when I was reading a Plaidy book. 2010 – 2013 were good years. Since I finished, I’ve been reading other historical fiction books and they are not as good as her’s. Sure, she’s not high brow but I really enjoyed her books. If you know of any historical fiction books about queens, queen consorts, queen mothers etc that are not crappy (a la Phillipa Gregory)(which most are) please email me. – bc

In Spring 2010, I embarked on a mission to read Jean Plaidy’s 86 books. Here, I document each with some links to thoughts on them in my speshul style. I’d wanted to write a post for each book but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I probably won’t. So, you’ll have to live with what’s there, dear reader.

You may acquire copies of any of these books here, pre-loved or new in my Jean Plaidy-centric amazon aStore →. I encourage you to read them all and start at the beginning. 🙂

Hey there – I came across your blog this morning as I was searching for The Wandering Prince. Very funny and I can relate to a lot of your life. Well, except the cats. I hate cats. I was big Jean Plaidy fan back in grade school when my friend Karen Lynch and I would buy and trade them like they were crack. I was playing some trivia game with my daughters over Christmas and they were amazed at my useless knowledge of British royalty. I was quick to credit Jean and Karen. Anyhoo, I promptly went down to the book shelves and dug out those that I still have with the intention of re-reading. Bonny Prince Charlie was a slut but I really liked that series and low and behold I’m missing the first in the trilogy. Damn Karen Lynch! Anyway, I was looking for a copy of it online and found your blog and was laughing pretty hard so I thought I’d just say hey and go in peace with Plaidy. Don’t even know if you still do this blog but I enjoyed it and I thought I’d let you know. Anne Creelman, Box 854 Haliburton, ON Canada, K0M 1S0.
